Chris Milicich
Chris Milicich or Chris Miličić is a soccer coach in New Zealand. He was educated at St Peter's College in Auckland. He has been Head Coach of Waitakere United (NZFC), East Auckland (National League), Fencibles and Ellerslie (Men's Northern Premier), Auckland Senior Men, Auckland Senior Women, Auckland U17 Women and Ellerslie (Women's Northern Premier).〔New Zealand Soccer albums 2003, 2004, 2005〕 Under his guidance both Waitakere United in 2005 and East Auckland in 2003 qualified for the Grand Final in their first season of operation.〔http://www.eastaucklandfc.org.nz〕 In 2003 he was awarded New Zealand's coach of the year and was nominated again in 2005.〔http://www.nzsoccer.com/auth/main/sb/preview/stage/files/2005_award_winners_release.pdf〕 He played for Ellerslie and Mt Wellington during the 80's but injury curtailed his playing career as a goalkeeper.
He led Waitakere United to the FIFA World Club Championships in December 2007 and 2008. He led Waitakere United to win the 2008 NZFC League, Grand Final Winners and Oceania Champions League Winners.
Milicich holds a prestigious UEFA 'A' International Coaching Licence and is the current Head Coach of the New Zealand U20 Mens FIFA World Cup Team. They qualified for the 2011 Youth World Cup in Columbia by beating the Solomon Islands 3-0, New Caledonia 10-0, Fiji 6-0 and won the Final 3-1 over the Solomon Islands.
The team has just competed in the Suwon Cup in Korea losing 1-0 to Uruguay and South Korea respectively and beating Nigeria 4-3.
